Santo Tomás
Flavour and folklore
It is celebrated every year on 21 December. It all began in the 19th century, when the people from the hamlets travelled to San Sebastián on the day of Santo Tomás to pay the rent to the landowners for the farms they cultivated. They used to go with the rent money but also with products from the hamlet that could not be found in the city. This action became what is now known as the traditional Santo Tomas Fair.
